Guía de las Técnicas Artesanales Tradicionales Aplicadas en el Carrizo en el Cantón Latacunga

This research is carried out because the artisan processes whose raw material is the carrizo they have not been previously inventoried, being part of intangible cultural heritage it is essential to register artisanal techniques, the time necessary for its manufacture and the mechanisms used to obtain a finished product so that it contributes to the safeguard of them. First, a situational diagnosis was made to know the current state of the study area, through field research and literature review, identifying the main aspects economic partner cultural, environmental, and tourism of the canton. The parish Ignacio Flores is the only one where crafts made in carrizo specifically in the neighborhoods Niagara, Niagara el Mirador and Tiobamba Norte, to know the existing processes applied to the carrizo an inventory made through field trips to the different sites where artisans found, who were the key actors in the investigation. They interviewed to perform the rising of information in the records of the INPC (National Institute of Cultural Heritage), getting; as a result, eleven processes with a single weaving technique. Finally it was systematized the information through the use of information and communication technologies obtaining a descriptive guide of the artisan processes related to the carrizo This could directly help artisans to make known the processes and crafts that can be offered to local national and international visitors and be this guide a dissemination tool to be able to generate economic income for people who still make handicrafts in carrizo. It should better relate handicrafts with tourism, so that in this way the economic development of the localities is promoted and that artisans see in this activity a source of income, thus continuing to develop the products and that tourism is a tool for the safeguarding of heritage.
