Özet:The objective of this research is to know if the application of certain measures stipulated in ISO 50001, generate positive results in the main energy carrier of the matrix building of the National Electricity Corporation Sucumbíos Business Unit, electricity. The research project is developed in five chapters; the first chapter details an antecedent of the problem and the main objectives of the research. The following chapter exposes the referential framework on which the problematic and the theoretical concepts that were used for the exposition of the same are supported, to later show general criteria on the consumption of electrical energy in public buildings, establishing the main factors that determine a probable excessive consumption of energy in our Study Unit. The third chapter exposes the instruments, methods and techniques of the methodology used in the development of the research, allowing the collection of information, data and energy indicators that are analyzed and interpreted in the following chapter, to finally establish a proposal for improvement in base to a determined number of measures and actions of low and average investment, for the short and medium term, contributing like this, to the mitigation of the local and global energy problem in certain magnitude.
