| Summary: | This research was developed with the purpose to study the social and affective development, tackling the problematic of the deficiencies of this development that show the students of basic education of the Educational Centre Integral Reform in Latacunga city, which recurrent aggressions situations between classmates have been identified , lack of values and suitable norms of behaviour, fault of skills for the socialisation between pairs, which deduces has generated affectations to level of the academic performance of the students, as these attitudes and behaviours affect the school climate, the attention and the motivation of the student to learn. The methodology used for the development of the research has a quantitative approach, we have applied the bibliographic design by looking for the scientific information and to collect datas, the level reached is exploratory and the techniques employed has been the survey to educational, authorities and students of the institution. The beneficiaries of the research were the students, educational authorities and parents of family of the sixth and seventh year of basic education of the Educational Centre Integral Reform “cerit” in Latacunga canton, province of Cotopaxi. The contribution generated by this research bases in the compilation of scientific foundations and theorists that have allowed to aim the importance that it consider like fundamental axis of education learning process to the social and affective development of the students, as well as the datas collected have made possible to diagnose the deficiencies in the actuality regarding this development in the population studied. The results obtained of the development of this research allow to identify that exists a deficient knowledge of the social and affective development and the fault of application of strategies to strengthen it.
