| Summary: | The enterprise "Ecoladrillos Cotopaxi" is a private company that dedicates its activities to the manufacture of structural components and prefabricated materials for civil engineering construction made of concrete, artificial stone or plaster; the ecological bricks produces there are Lego type of 300 x 150 x 85 mm, and there are three different models: cangahua, PET and sawdust; because of the organization does not consider which kind of brick has better mechanical strength and moisture absorption, neither having a quality control of the product, it increases the cost of production without complying with what is specified in the INEN 297 regulations; consequently, the objective of this work is to carry out a quality control process of the ecological bricks for the verification of its properties in the mechanical resistance and moisture absorption in the three types of environmental blocks manufactured by the company. This investigation is descriptive, so it allows the data collection of the processes of ecological bricks elaboration; after that, it is tried to obtain results of the tests of the mechanical resistance and humidity absorption to analyze which type of brick is the most optimal. At the same time, the method used is inductive since it starts with the formulation of the following hypothesis that based on the quality control of the three different types of ecological bricks, it will be identified which brick is the most convenient and optimal for its manufacturing. The results obtained were that the composition of cangahua has better properties with a resistance to compression, flexion, and moisture absorption of 9.74 MPa, 1.07 MPa, and 22%, respectively which has wholly met the regulations of hollow brick compression and humidity parameters. However, for flexion, it was less than 2 MPa specifying the normative and related to a traditional brick that has 1.08 MPa having similar characteristics. |
