Shrnutí:The objective of this project is to analyze the flow behavior in a plastic injection matrix for an upholstery cap, through the use of computational software. The project uses a qualitative methodology that considers the technical specifications of the design, comparing the different alternatives with the criteria, the functional analysis and the most suitable solutions for the design of the matrix. The geometry of a matrix is initially elaborated in a software with the help of computer aided engineering, this geometry is important for a CAE system, in which there is the possibility of addressing simulation studies by finite element method and the behavior of flow in the matrix. Through the simulation, the type of mold to be used, the characteristics and its final configuration were obtained as a result, as well as the speed, pressure, and adequate temperature with which the mold should work and the time it takes for the flow to enter was determined. in the cavity until the matrix is completely filled, the cooling time, the mold opening time which these times form a total time to complete a cycle at the time of performing the injection process. This analysis provides benefits such as reduction of time in the elaboration of parts, increase in productivity, ease of detection of faults and help in the identification of solutions for them.
