Izvleček:The gastrointestinal parasites represent a threat to animal and human health, causing problems for the hosts. In the present investigation, the determination of the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites carried out in the San Rafael and El Chan neighborhoods, Eloy Alfaro Parish, Latacunga Canton, in 75 domestic dogs from each neighborhood; San Rafael and the Chan. Of the 75 samples from the San Rafael neighborhood, analyzed in the laboratory, 61 cases were positive for parasitoids, representing 81.33% and 14 negative cases representing % 18.67, of positive cases 25.33 % are for Ancylostoma caninum, 14.67% for Ascaris and 41.33% for Toxocara canis. In the samples collected in the El Chan neighborhood, there were 55 positive cases of parasitoids, equivalent to 73.33% and 20 negative cases of gastrointestinal parasitoids equivalent to 26.6%, of the positive cases we found 13% of Ancylostoma caninum and a 60% of toxocara cannis. By means of the total analysis of the dogs studied, we found that the toxocara canis were the most frequent invaders with 81.33%, in the San Rafael neighborhood and 73.33% in Chan neighborhood.
