Streszczenie:For the characterization of sustainable tourism alternatives in Latacunga, a exploratory research with a qualitative approach was applied, because the main problem is the lack of sustainable tourism alternatives at the attractions, because for the reason that covid 19 tourists do not prefer to travel to crowded sites. To this end, the current situation of sustainable tourism was analyzed through a bibliographic review of primary and secondary sources: as PDOT of Latacunga Canton 2016- 2028, and tourism plan of Latacunga Canton 2016 -2020, In addition, a survey was applied to a pilot population, Once the questions were appropriate, they were applied in the territory to 285 visitors, using non-probabilistic sampling. The information on the most visited natural and cultural attractive in the study area was then analyzed and verified, through the application of the data sheet “Methodology for Hierarchy of Attractions and Generation of Tourist Spaces in Ecuador” created by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador 2017, through on-site visits to the obtained 24 attractive. Finally, two maps were designed with the application of the las TICS (ArcGIS). As a final result, two maps were obtained, the first map consists of tourist facilities and the second map contains the sustainable tourism alternatives in air, water and land that tourists would like to implement. With these results, the authorities and others involved in tourism are asked to take into consideration and contribute to decision making and strengthen visits to all tourist attractions in the 14 parishes in a responsible manner.
