| Čoahkkáigeassu: | Plant extracts based on wild plants are created as a natural alternative for pest control. The purpose of this research was "The evaluation of the effect of plant extracts in the control of Bactericera cockerelli, under laboratory conditions", whose purpose was to establish which of the extracts under study showed better control of the pest and which in turn ensures being environmental friendly. Within this investigative work, a completely randomized experimental design was used with a factorial arrangement (AxB) with 6 treatments and 6 repetitions to then elaborate the vegetable extracts obtained through the maceration technique, after which the application of the extracts in two concentrations: Hemlock (Conium maculatum) at 25% and 50%; Fake Tobacco (Nicotiana glauca) at 25% and 50%. Subsequently, the count of Bactericera cockerelli was carried out in order to introduce 15 individuals in each experimental unit, to continue with the application of the aqueous extract with the help of an atomizer, data was collected after 3 hours of application of the extract, where they took 10 minutes to carry out the count of dead individuals, and then continue with the data collection at an interval of every 3 hours for 18 consecutive hours, recording them in a field book. After tabulating the data obtained, the INFOSTAT statistical program was used, where the ANOVA analysis was carried out, together with a 5% Tukey test, where the following results were achieved: the average with the highest percentage of control during the 3 first hours was for Hemlock (Conium maculatum) with a concentration of 50% with an average of 2.85 dead individuals, followed by extract of False tobacco (Nicotiana glauca) with a concentration of 50% and an average of 2.55 dead individuals Therefore, it is recommended to use Hemlock extract at a concentration of 50% |
