| Zusammenfassung: | The research project focuses on painting for self-esteem as a strategy to improve the comprehensive development of students, the objective was to determine the educational contribution of painting for self-esteem in students of the Seventh year of "Guaranda" Basic Education School, located in Cotopaxi Province, Pujili town, in Isinche de Tovares Infantes neighborhood , in school year 2023 - 2024, the applied methodology was framed in the qualitative approach, with the inductive method of empirical scope, the type of research lies in field and descriptive research. To collect data, observation and interview techniques were used with their respective interview guide and observation guide instruments, aimed at a teacher from Cultural and Artistic Education subject and 21 students from the Seventh Year of Basic Education parallel "A", consisting of 9 men and 12 women. The results of the instruments’ application reflected that painting is a strategy that is used less frequently in what teachers do, collecting relevant information about: little use of various materials present in the environment, lack of sociability among classmates, limitation in promotion of art for greater awareness and little emotional expression in the classroom environment. Concluding that painting is a strategic ally to improve the student's self-esteem by contributing to education with abilities, skills and talents that awaken creativity and exploit emotions in a school environment. |
