Summary:This research work is developed in the Educational Unit "Mariano Negrete" located in the Province of Pichincha in the Canton Mejía, in this institution the teachers do not use didactic material and neither did they apply modern and interactive strategies to teach and teach the subject of mathematics, which causes little motivation in students, making it an unpleasant subject. This situation represents a challenge for the teacher, who despite his efforts must ask himself the question of how to keep his students active in the learning process? For this purpose, the objective is to develop methodological strategies to improve the process of teaching Mathematics of students of 7th grade of General Basic Education in the Educational Unit "Mariano Negrete". Regarding the methodological aspects, a mixed approach is approached. Analysis and synthesis methods are applied during the bibliographic review, both on the subject of didactics and the relevance of activities in the teaching-learning process. As a result of the proposal, the need to implement recreational activities is evident. With this, the teacher is allowed to design and create new strategies, thus contributing to the improvement of academic performance, the discovery of skills and learning, which will help him to function efficiently in his environment.
