Résumé: | The current research project focused on a domestic wastewater treatment plant design and simulation at the Salache Extension Cotopaxi Technical University. For the treatment plant design, it was required information for getting flow and DQO data, what subsequently, they were used the calculations for the different tanks, equalizer, primary settler, secondary chlorination settler and trickling filter design, which comprise the domestic wastewater treatment plant. For the inforrnation gathering, it was made the take 25 water samples in the wastewater inspection box, located at the entrance to the CEASA campus their respective laboratory analysis. Once the calculations got results for the tanks and the trickling filter, it was proceeded the simulation by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with the help from OPENFOAM® and MathCad® free softwares. Through the analysis in the softwares, it was achieved to diagnose, which the got dimensions by means the formulas application for the equalizer tank and the primary settler are adequate for the flow and solid decantation regulation respectively, on the other hand, for the secondary settler tanks and it was modified the chlorination tank geometry until to get the appropriate results. Finally, it was got the a wastewater treatment plant design consisting of tanks: equalizer, primary settler, trickling filter, secondary settler and chlorination, where the wastewater has an approximate 24 hours residence time. |
