Description
Résumé:The present project was carried out in San Agustín of Callo neighborhood with the aim of characterizing and evaluating the sustainability of milk production systems in the people associated and not associated with the milk network. In the characterization, several farming systems were determined. In the agricultural field, the predominant crop is grass and fodder mixtures. In the livestock activity, milk production is the main source of economic income for families. 83.06% of associated and non-associated people produce 20 to 40 liters per day, associated people have a fixed price of 40 cents per liter of milk and non-associated persons have a price of 30, 35, 40 cents per liter. In the social area, it was determined that there is a low level of secondary education, another relevant factor is the extension of the land, most of the associated and non-associated people have less than one hectare of land, for this reason they cannot cultivate in greater extension and the animal load is from 1 to 10 cattle. In evaluation of the sustainability of the associated people, the value of 2.33 was determined in the economic dimension, in the environmental dimension the value of 2.00, in the socio-cultural dimension the value of 3.78 and the average of sustainability of 2.70, which indicates that the production system of the associated people is sustainable. In the non-associated people, the value of 2.16 was determined in the economic dimension, in the Ecological or Environmental dimension the value of 1.94, in the Socio-Cultural dimension the value of 1.86 and the average of sustainability of 1.89, which indicates that the production system of the non-associated people is not sustainable.
