| Resumo: | The present investigation was carried out at Guaytacama parish in the Latacunga Canton with the aim of establishing suitable areas for the cultivation of potatoes and corn, different climatic and edaphic variables were considered such as type and texture of soil, pH, slopes, precipitation, temperature and evotranspiration obtained through Oudin's method. With the application, information geographical systems, a range of 20 km is established on order to zone study where 22 nearby meteorological stations were obtained, which 5 active stations are presented, but only station M1066- COTOPILALO CONVENIO INAMHI-CESA presents the data necessary to obtain annual temperature and precipitation, as well as monthly. Thus, using a geographical model from ArcGIS software, a Worldclim analysis of isotherms and isohyets is obtained in the same way edaphic variables with the remote sensing application, it is established that 44.43% getting the edaphoclimatic conditions for the cultivation of corn, while for the potato cultivation is null, so it is evident that there are no areas that fulfill the necessary requirements to an optimal development. However, different ancient or modern farming methods can be used for potato cultivation, but it will increase your production cost. For future research, it is recommended to obtain in situ data for the generation of climatic and edaphic data with more precision. |
