| Riassunto: | The present investigation was carried out in the La Matriz parish of the Pujilí canton, with the objective of determining the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in domestic dogs (canis lupus familiaris), by finding parasite eggs in feces, with 3 techniques (direct smear , sedimentation and flotation), with a number of 100 animals, the samples were collected in 19 neighborhoods and in a shelter in the parish of La Matrix, the 100 samples obtained were divided into the 3 techniques, after carrying out the techniques 6 eggs of parasites distributed as follows: in the direct smear technique, 1 parasite egg (Ancylostoma) was found; in the sedimentation technique, 2 parasite eggs (Ancylostomas) were found; and in the flotation technique, 3 parasite eggs (Ancylostoma, Acaro and Uncinarias) were found. The most frequent being the egg of Ancylostoma Caninum, with a percentage of 67% with reference to the other parasites found in the parish, giving a total prevalence of 6% in the parish of the Pujilí canton. Ending with a socialization of a low result of parasitosis. It should be noted that the present investigation is a non-probabilistic study since 100 canines from the parish were sampled. Of the 20 sampled, 2 neighborhoods and the refuge tested positive for parasitism (Refugio, Cashapamba and the dancer). On the other hand, according to the analysis of the techniques and surveys carried out, it will be prolonged that, if there is a relationship between the type of floor, food and age with parasitism. The impact of the majority of the owners has been good, since apparently there is a low prevalence of parasitism in the parish. It is necessary to plan a massive deworming campaign and carry out training to prevent an infestation of parasites and in turn raise awareness among the owners who live in the parish of the Pujilí canton. |
