Description
Summary:This research was carried out in response to the scarce application of the performing arts as a teaching and learning strategy in early education. This problem aims to diagnose how the performing arts influence the language development of children in early education in the educational institutions of the Tingo la Esperanza parish in the Pujilí district of the canton of Pujilí. The methodology was qualitative, inductive, non-experimental, descriptive, bibliographical, and field-based. For the collection of information, the interview technique has applied the guide of questions directed to three teachers, the technique of the observation with its instrument, and the observation card directed to thirty children of initial education. The obtained results determined that the children present difficulties in articulating the phonemes; there does not exist a clear comprehension of the language affecting the expression of their emotions and thoughts. In addition, it was found that teachers occasionally apply the performing arts to develop language as a teaching-learning strategy. Finally, this research had a tremendous educational impact, and social action, since it aims to improve children's language development.
