Summary:This research was developed at the Repsol Company located in Orellana province, the study is about the gas turbines LM2500 that are used to generate electric power which is uses in the exploration and production of petroleum in the Block 16. The turbines are exposed most of the time to working at full rated power, plus the wear of internal materials, the poor quality of fuel used, aggressive environmental conditions of the working area and mismanagement maintenance have made in recent years that the efficiency decrease considerably thereby affecting directly the total production of the block because it cannot supply the required energy demand generating huge economic losses to the company. By analyzing the current conditions will find the causes of reduced efficiency in turbines and poses the best alternative for increasing the efficiency of the turbines to thus achieve more generation with less fuel consumption. Finally, a maintenance management system poses the same aims to establish an effective model to achieve optimum results in terms of efficiency of the turbines.
