| Riassunto: | This research was carried out at Sangolquí parish, Rumiñahui canton, Pichincha province, to evaluate the behavior of two adherent polymers and two organic-mineral coatings in urea. A completely randomized block experimental design was applied with a factorial arrangement of (2 * 4) +2 giving a total of 10 treatments and 30 experimental units. The organic materials used were cow manure, humus; while the mineral materials were zeolite, phosphate rock, Ethocel polymers, and potato starch. The evaluated characteristics were: ppm content of Nitrate NO3 in leachates and pH content in leachates. Column leaching was performed, the NO3 content was measured with a flat nitrate ion-selective electrode (LAQUAtwin-NO3-11), whose values were expressed in ppm. The results obtained are the following: T5 (Potato starch + humus + zeolite + urea) is the one that got the most significant loss of Nitrates NO3 while T3 (Ethocel + manure + phosphoric rock + urea) presented better chemical characteristics so, it is identified as the most efficient treatment for the organic-mineral coating due to the characteristics of Ethocel, which is a polymer insoluble in water and phosphate rock has a slow solubility. Regarding the pH of the leached liquid from the application of urea with its different coatings in all the treatments, there were similar changes; at the beginning of the investigation, it shows a pH of 7.5, and as the days go by, this value increases until it reaches after 15 days with a value of 8.8. |
