A qualitative approach was applied because it covered the collection of data by holding discussion groups; a sample of ten young people from the “Escuela Politécnica del Ejército” was chosen in the Hospitality and Tourism race and eight students from the Technical University of Cotopaxi in the Social Communication career. In addition, a scheme of categories with different codes identifying the stronger ideas in the discussion group was elaborated and a comparison was made both of higher education participants centers. It was concluded that young university students are interested in scientific knowledge oriented to issues of conjuncture, politics, anthropology, biology, psychology and technological advances too. In this context, the focus on specific topics depends on the availability of content and is attractive, clear and concrete. It was defined that the young university students of Latacunga city are closely linked with technological devices, on average a subject remains ten hours connected to the internet; of this time three are used for academic activities and the rest for entertainment and communication…. |
