Samenvatting:The purpose of this study was to systematize guinea pig breeding in associative projects in the 10 rural parishes of Latacunga canton. Firstly, the associations were identified by parishes of study, 5 parishes with associative projects in guinea pig raising were found as population. Afterward, a survey was developed, with closed questions, based on infrastructure, feeding, health, and zootechnical management, marketing channels, and guinea pig market analysis, directed to the presidents, members of the associations, natural persons, barbecues, and stores. Therefore, the information management was carried out using descriptive statistics and Microsoft Excel 2019 to tabulate the data, the results obtained in the research indicate that the predominant breeding system is the family, the most used feed by producers with 46% being forage, 82% do not use water troughs because the grass contains water, 86% of the partners use feeders to avoid trampling and contamination of the feed, The main cause of death (66%) is feeding, 64% of the members clean their sheds monthly, 76% of the producers use footbaths as a biosecurity tool, 99% of the members do not have adequate floors for urine expulsion, and 98% of the members classify the guinea pigs by reproductive stages. On the other hand, in terms of the marketing channel and market analysis of guinea pig, 43% of producers sell guinea pig by direct sale, the month with the highest demand for guinea pig for members is May, social networks are the media where members have seen advertising for the sale of guinea pig, 91% of the people surveyed like guinea pig meat, the nutritional value with 36% is the reason for buying guinea pig, 62% of surveys buy guinea pig for family consumption, 54% prefer to buy standing guinea pigs after preparing them personally, the most commercialized meat in the businesses with 93% is chicken, followed by 81% who find it profitable to sell guinea pig meat, the quality of the product and the price with 100% are considered important to sell a product, with 70% the wholesale suppliers are the ones that supply the most guinea pig businesses, 46% of the businesses are supplied with guinea pigs every week. Last but not least, through the results obtained from the survey, it is concluded that the raising, not all of them have technical assistance, which is detrimental to expanding marketing channels, remembering that it is a source of income for families in rural areas, recommending to expand their knowledge and in turn make advice with access to all producers and improve the deficit of technical bases, In other matters, guinea pig meat presents supply and demand in the parishes under study, the difference in preference with other meats is not significant, the stores and grills are willing to sell guinea pig meat in their businesses taking into account the recommendations to acquire a good product to the taste of the diner.
