Izvleček:The present research project called “DESCRIPTIVE GUIDE OF THE HANDCRAFTED ART OF MASKS IN WOOD OF THE COMMUNITY OF TIGUA” was established based on three objectives formulated the first objective is to make a diagnosis in which the information was collected in the geographical, social, economic and cultural aspect through the technique of interviewing the President of the Community of Tigua and residents of the community to know the current state of the place, in the second objective the Inventory of Artisanal Techniques of wood carving using the INPC (National Institute of Cultural Heritage), the information was collected through interviews with the Artisans of the Community of Tigua being true information to record the data in the inventory in this way the techniques could be safeguarded that each artisan possesses in the carving of masks; in the third objective, a descriptive guide of the artisan techniques of carving of masks in wood was elaborated through the systematization of the data, in which reference was made to the materials, processes and types of artisan techniques since the research proposed to safeguard and disseminate the craft knowledge of the elderly adult of the Community of Tigua. The research has the following observation and field modality, since most of the information collected is carried out with the respective field trips and identifying key actors to collect true information, through verifiable means such as the camera, the interview , the INPC files, in this way to be able to meet each of the proposed objectives, the project aims to create a descriptive guide of the artisan techniques of carving wooden masks of the community of Tigua, to encourage the initiative of the Young people's interest in recognizing and safeguarding this ancestral culture of the older adults of tigua, and demonstrating the techniques used by artisans in the elaboration of tigua masks, which are unique each work of art has its finish, in this way be recognized and preserve this cultural resource for its preservation.
