description This research project is focused on the search for information on the role played by the avifauna in the traditional craft techniques of the Zumbahua parish, so the research began with the development of the first objective, which consists of developing an analysis of several main aspects such as; the sociocultural, socioeconomic, geographic, demographic, and tourist aspect of the community. Where it was evidenced that 98.8% of the total population of the inhabitants of the parish call themselves indigenous, while the difference in the population is called mestizos, it has a total of 13,764 inhabitants. The activities that belong to the primary sector and that generate a greater economic movement in the parish are agriculture, livestock and forestry that belong to 72.56% of the population, as part of the tertiary sector of the economy we have the craft activity and therefore to tourism that are linked hand in hand. All this analysis was given thanks to the primary and secondary information that was collected through the 5 field trips that were carried out with the research team, in addition to the bibliographic research tool that allowed us to search for information from various sources. As part of the second objective we have the preparation of the inventory; Within the parameters of the National Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage, in the field of traditional craft techniques that are related to the avifauna of the parish, using various methods such as ethnography, which allowed researchers to approach the inhabitants of said community, it is say allowed us to interact with the main actors who were going to provide us with the necessary information for this project, through different tools such as recordings, photographs, videos and of course a questionnaire of questions to be able to carry out the interview, they were used in the same way forms the INPC tabs for area five. In the development of the investigation, it allowed to know the origin, the process and the cultural value, which are given to each of the crafts that are part of this investigation, as part of the analysis of results, it was concluded that there are five cultural manifestations that you are related to birds and their representation in handicrafts such as: the Condor, the Hummingbird, the Owl, the Eagle and the Curiquingue. For that, the following methodology was used: Ethnographic, inductive - deductive, descriptive and snowball method, which were helpful in being able to identify the key actors through referrals, as well as a questionnaire of questions to collect the information. Keywords: Crafts, Avifauna, Methodology, Techniques, Traditions.El presente proyecto de investigación está enfocado en la búsqueda de información sobre el rol que cumple la avifauna en las técnicas artesanales tradicionales de la parroquia Zumbahua, por lo que la investigación empezó con el desarrollo del primer objetivo que consiste en el desarrollo de un análisis de varios aspectos principales como; el aspecto sociocultural, socioeconómico, geográfico, demográfico, turístico de la comunidad. En donde se evidencio que el 98.8% de la población total de los habitantes de la parroquia se autodenominan como indígenas, mientas tanto que la diferencia de la población se denomina mestizos, posee un total de 13.764 habitantes. Las actividades que pertenecen al sector primario y que generan un mayor movimiento económico en la parroquia es la agricultura, la ganadería y la silvicultura que pertenecen al 72,56% de la población, como parte del sector terciario de la economía tenemos a la actividad artesanal y por ende al turismo que van ligados de la mano. Todo este análisis se dio gracias a la información primaria y secundaria que se recolecto mediante las 5 salidas de campo que se realizó con el equipo de investigación, adicional la herramienta de la investigación bibliográfica que nos permitió buscar información de diversas fuentes. Como parte del segundo objetivo tenemos la elaboración del inventario; dentro de los parámetros del Instituto Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, del ámbito técnicas artesanales tradicionales que se relacionan con la avifauna de la parroquia, utilizando varios métodos como la etnografía, la cual permitió que los investigadores se acerquen a los habitantes de dicha comunidad, es decir nos permitió interactuar con los actores principales que nos iban a facilitar con la información necesaria para el presente proyecto, mediante diferentes herramientas como grabaciones, fotografías, videos y por su puesto un cuestionario de preguntas para poder realizar la entrevista, se utilizaron de la misma forma las fichas del INPC del ámbito cinco. En el desarrollo de la investigación permitió conocer el origen, el proceso y el valor cultural, que se le dan a cada una de las artesanías que son parte de esta investigación, como parte del análisis de resultados, se concluyó que cinco son las manifestaciones culturales que tienes relación con las aves y su representación en las artesanías como: el Cóndor, el Colibrí, el Búho, el Águila y el Curiquingue. Para aquello se empleó la siguiente metodología: Método etnográfico, inductivo - deductivo, descriptivo y bola de nieve, que fueron de ayuda para poder identificar a los actores clave por medio de referidos, así como también se empleó un cuestionario de preguntas para recabar la información.
