Riassunto:The purpose of this researching project was to generate a record on traditional medicine in the Eloy Alfaro parish. The problem was framed in the scarce diffusion of ancestral knowledge in relation to traditional medicine in the sector. The objective was to design an editorial product for the register. This project presents a qualitative approach, applied through a direct approach to the place of study. The applied research helps in the scientific development of the project: bibliography contributed in the search for information with theoretical and technical foundations; exploratory allowed the observation and analysis of the medicinal knowledge of the older adults; in the field it intervened in the compilation of information of the knowledge of the subjects involved and with the descriptive one the customs of the older adults when the traditional medicine were registered. The techniques used were: mapping for which the legal and established Eloy Alfaro parish were identified, with the intention of detecting older adults who knew about traditional medicine (preparation, dosage, treatment) by means of a record on cards and photographs through an urban tour in groups; observation helped to identify the older adults and different types of plants; the interview was conducted with professionals in the area of editorial design, determining the type of product to be presented as the final process of the degree project. It is necessary to mention that the methodology of graphic production of Kaj Johansson, Robert Ryberg and Peter Lundberg contributed to the project through eight steps; step one allowed to establish objectives of the proposal, justification and naming of the product to design; in step two determined a variety of proposals (chromatic, grid, types of paper and formats) to be implemented in the design; in step three generated the photographs of plants, which were captured thanks to the experience and observation of the photographer Art Wofle, in addition, the content of the text was reviewed; in step fourth the design, plan and composition was established; in step five printing tests were carried out to xiii verify colors, image resolutions and page structure; in step six the final printing of the product was executed; in step seven the final finishes of the product were developed (binding) and in step eight, due to the extension a complete study is needed to determine the distribution, leaving it open for a new research topic. This allowed us to achieve as a result a printed photographic research and information catalogue called: El Pondo "science, knowledge and society", thought for the diffusion and registration of the traditional medicine of the ancestral knowledge in Eloy Alfaro parish. Consequently, the contribution of this title work constitutes a legacy of information and socialization of the traditional healing value in favor of human health in the Eloy Alfaro parish. In addition, it is concluded that the meanings established through historical moments play an important role with the editorial design, which allows to identify practices generated through a dynamic and impressive product.
