Summary: | This research was carried out at the Latacunga Slaughter Center where it was evaluated using the sucrose flotation coproparasitic technique, with the objective of determining the prevalence and establishing the relationship between the prevalence between the origin and gender factors. The process of collecting fecal samples was carried out in post-mortem animals, the collected sample was labeled for later analysis. Later, in the parasitology laboratory of the veterinary medicine career of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, the samples were analyzed daily, in which the aforementioned method was implemented. The main types of parasites of the gastrointestinal tract that were presented in Creole cattle From the Slaughter Center the nematodes predominated with 85%, cestodes 5% and protozoa 11%. In addition, it should be noted that the highest prevalence was obtained in female nematodes 58%, cestodes 63% and protozoa 60% compared to males, depending on the origin the area with the highest prevalence was Latacunga with 51%. According to the established parameters and in addition to the data obtained, it is necessary to carry out a health plan in the different areas of presence in which the main antiparasitics that should be used to counteract nematodes, cestodes and protozoa within the gastrointestinal tract of the cattle must be determined. |
