Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The purpose of the present project was to redesign and implement a machine for torsion tests in the Materials Resistance Laboratory of the Electro-mechanic Career of the CIYA Faculty, which will allow the students of the Career to determine the mechanical properties of Different materials when subjected to a torque. For the redesign of this equipment, a machine used as a base that was in disuse because it did not have a data acquisition system. With this background, we proceeded to redesign this equipment through the implementation of a torque sensor. 100 Nm for the applied torque measurement, this sensor is connected to a signal conditioner for communication between the equipment and the data acquisition card DAQ 6008. With the sensor and an encoder installed in the machine, the programming designed so that the measured torque and angle of rotation were recorded and stored, allowing to graph the behavior of the material in real time until reaching the breaking point. The electrical and electronic connections installed on a control board. The specimens for the tests were prepared according to the ASTM E143 Standard and to check the reliability of the machine. It was carried out tests with the most used steel materials in the national industry such as: ASTM A36, SAE 1018, AISI 1045 and AISI 4340, then the relationship that exists between the found values found in the torsional yield stress and the tensile yield value indicated in the technical sheet of each steel tested. These relationships were the following: 1.39; 1.52; 1.51; 1.85 respectively; so it was concluded that the team is reliable in the results.
