الملخص:The research was focused on the study of the problem of family participation in the educational process. Be part of the consideration of the family as a component of a social capital within the community, which must engage their efforts together to ensure success in training the youngest members of the population. The objective was to identify strategies for family bonding in the educational process of children 9th grade students of Basic Education of the Educational Unit “José Emilio Álvarez ”from the Chambapongo community, Salcedo canton, province of Cotopaxi, through a methodological guide focused on the dimensions of the Theory of Social Capital. To do this, a focus methodology was used qualitative, combining empirical and theoretical methods. Techniques of data collection such as the interview and survey of the community president de Chambapongo, rector, parents and students. The results have revealed that the "José Emilio Álvarez" Educational Unit has a deficient level of family participation in the activities carried out in the institution. For which a methodological guide was designed that works four fundamental dimensions of family participation from the Theory of Social Capital, strengthening the social fabric, revaluation of the teacher, student participation and family participation. Such an instrument has been validated by users and an expert who support the viability and feasibility of the proposal to solve the study problem
