| Izvleček: | The objective of this research was the analysis of the hotel sub - sector of Latacunga city. Cotopaxi province, it which consists of twelve hotels categorized into four, three and two stars by means of the DAFO analysis methodology, allowing the fallowing elements to be identified: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, through a theoretical scientific foundation based on documentary research provided different primary bibliographic sources such as electronic and printed documents. In order to obtain information from this sub – sector two tools were used: an interview with the administrators of the twelve hotels under study, allowing us to obtain the following information: lodging capacity rate and utility of the different rooms and identification of strengths and weaknesses as second instrument we did the analysis of the data provided by the digital reservation platform www.Booking. Com it comes one a digital survey of satisfaction: reason for the trip, who travel with a global evaluation of the hotel and the average rating of the following factors: facilities and services, cleanliness, comfort, staff, quality – price Wi-Fi and location in addition to the positive and negative comments of the accommodation. With the analysis of these results it was possible to determine the internal and external factors, classifying them as positive and negative to the elaboration of the DAFO matrix and consequently perform the crossing of variables in which the strengths and weaknesses were used to face the threats and take advantage of the opportunities to finish with the presentation of a plan of action measures. As a result of this research, 13 factors could be identified divided into four weaknesses, four strengths, and three threats, and two opportunities. |
