Summary:The present work presents the research carried out and the results obtained in the implementation and certification of structured cabling in block B of the Technical University of Cotopaxi - La Maná. The investigation was based on a series of processes and methods for the accomplishment of a determined purpose, through the field investigation the area of study could be known and with this the proper procedure to follow for the correct installation of the structured cabling was determined. Research methods were also used, such as inductive, deductive, synthetic and analytical, starting from a known reality and allowing the research project to be developed. For the data collection, the survey technique was used, which was applied to the aforementioned population, the favorable results of the research allowed to verify that in fact the viability of the project was directed towards its execution. The implementation of structured cabling was developed under the international standards and standards of TIA-EIA 568B, in order to carry out the assembly and proper installation of the structured cabling system, based on the star type topology since it is the least complex and the more adaptable to the physical environment where the installation was carried out, in addition to the use of Category 6 UTP cables for the most efficient transmission of information. With the certification process the performance, connectivity and operation of the previously implemented structured cabling were compared, the process was successfully performed in the 10 data points installed in block B of the Technical University of Cotopaxi - La Maná.
