Descripció
Sumari:This research work was carried out on the Salache campus of the Technical University of Cotopaxi in the parish of Eloy Alfaro Canton Latacunga. The problems that the planet is going through with climate change, the lack of access to irrigation systems, and the scarce technification in cultivation, have accentuated the problems in agricultural production. Thus, bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the crops with low production in the Ecuadorian highlands. The present investigation validates different methods to increase the production of the crop with the objective of determining the best method of production, yield and the best variety, with the system of plastic mulching with a thorough fertilization based on the recommendations of INIAP, the conventional management system with open-air furrows and thorough fertilization with recommendations of INIAP, and the control farmer with open-air furrows without fertilization in different varieties such as; INIAP-420 "Canario del Chota", INIAP-425 "Blanco Fanesquero" and INIAP-484 "Centenario", for which variables such as: days of emergence, plant height, days of flowering, number of pods per plant, days of dry harvest, pod weight yield, dry grain weight yield and total yield of each treatment were analyzed. From the data already obtained, a Chi-square statistical analysis was carried out and data tables and graphs were established to show the differences in the variables mentioned above. In conclusion, it was determined that the most efficient method with the highest average adaptability was the plastic mulch and the variety with the best agronomic behaviors and the highest yield was INIAP-484 "Centenario".
