This lack of maintenance plan has been reflected in a considerable increase in fuel consumption and a low efficiency in the vehicles that make up this fleet. The general objective of the present investigation is to develop a mechanical maintenance plan to reduce fuel consumption in the San Felipe light transport vehicle fleet of the Malacatos parish of the Province of Loja during the year 2016. A mechanical maintenance plan Organized and carried out properly in the fleet of vehicles of light transport san Felipe will allow to reduce the consumption of fuel in the vehicles of the Fleet. The present investigation will be with Field Modality because the researcher will be in direct contact with the object of study and it will be done what is an observation sheet to determine the current state of the object, besides Run interviews and surveys of partners and drivers of fleet vehicles, measurements of the components of the vehicle will be taken. The results obtained in the investigation is that in the vehicle fleet there was a decrease of fuel of almost 15 percent, and the power and torque increased in each of the vehicles of the San Felipe de Malacatos fleet.
