In each repetition, the following diet was applied: T0 (commercial balanced), T1 (10% potato peel flour) and T2 (20% potato peel flour). For the interpretation of the data obtained, ANOVA and the Bonferoni test were applied to identify statistical differences between treatments, obtaining the following results: when carrying out the physical, chemical and microbiological characterization of the potato peel flour, a total of 9.64 % in protein and 1.39% in fat, in addition the absence of all types of pathogenic bacteria is reported, it was determined that potato peel flour provides 1870.6162 Kcal/kg MS of energy, when evaluating the productive parameters it stands out T1(10%) with 2405.17g average weight, 973.73g in feed consumption, 589.86g in weight gain and 1.68 in feed conversion, economic gains of $0.28 were obtained for every dollar invested. Therefore, it is concluded that potato peel meal can be a feed alternative to improve feed costs in broiler chicken production. |

Therefore, it is concluded that potato peel meal can be a feed alternative to improve feed costs in broiler chicken production.Esta investigación surgió con el propósito de disminuir los costos de alimentación en la producción de pollos de engorde y aprovechar los residuos agroindustriales, se sustituyó el maíz con 2 niveles (10 y 20%) de harina de cáscara de papa en la alimentación de pollos de engorde, para lo cual se realiza la caracterización física, química y microbiológicamente a la harina de cáscara de papa y los balanceados, se determinó el aporte energético de este subproducto, a su vez se evaluó los parámetros productivos y se realizó una estimación del mérito económico en la producción de pollos de engorde alimentados con harina de cáscara de papa durante la etapa de crecimiento y acabado. Esta investigación se realizó en la Provincia de Cotopaxi, Cantón Salcedo, Parroquia Mulalillo, se utilizó 198 pollos de la línea Cobb 500 de 21 días de edad con un peso promedio de 670,02g, distribuidos aleatoriamente en 3 tratamientos 11 repeticiones y 6 unidades experimentales en cada repetición, se aplicó la siguiente dieta: T0 (balanceado comercial), T1 (10% de harina de cáscara de papa) y T2 (20% de harina de cáscara de papa). Para la interpretación de los datos obtenidos se aplicó ANOVA y el test Bonferoni para identificar diferencias estadísticas entre tratamientos, obteniendo los siguientes resultados: al realizar la caracterización física, química y microbiológica a la harina de cáscara de papa se obtuvo un total de 9,64% en proteína y 1,39% en grasa, además se reportan ausencia de todo tipo de bacterias patógenas, se determinó que la harina de cáscara de papa aporta con 1870,6162 Kcal/kg MS de energía, al evaluar los parámetros productivos se destaca T1(10%) con 2405,17g de peso promedio, 973,73g en consumo de alimento, 589,86g en ganancia de peso y 1,68 de conversión alimenticia, se obtuvieron ganancias económicas de $0,28 por cada dólar invertido.
