For this purpose, a trial was established by evaluating five treatments: T1: 250 kg ha-1 of cane compost; T2: 500 kg ha-1 of cane compost; T3: 250 kg ha-1 of bovine manure; T4: 500 kg ha-1 of bovine manure and T5: chemical fertilization (NPK), under a completely random design with six repetitions. The obtained results showed that the NPK-based fertilization in the cultivation of hierbaluisa allowed a greater growth of the plants, at the same time it enhanced their foliar development, however, with the application of 500 kg ha-1 of sugar cane compost the results were closed to the treatment with the greatest effect, while for the production of tillers and stems per tiller, the treatments did not differ. In addition, when the crop was fertilized by applying T2: cane compost 500 kg ha-1, a similar yield level to that achieved with NPK-based chemical fertilization was obtained which was the treatment that made possible to generate the highest yield per hectare. Finally, the greatest economic benefit was obtained with the application of chemical fertilization based on NPK, with a 61.44% profitability, followed by the application of T2: cane compost in a dose of 500 kg ha-1 which reflected 48.77% of profitability. |

Para tal efecto se estableció un ensayo evaluando cinco tratamientos: T1: 250 kg ha-1 de compost de caña; T2: 500 kg ha-1 de compost de caña; T3: 250 kg ha-1 de estiércol bovino; T4: 500 kg ha-1 de estiércol bovino y T5: Fertilización Química (NPK), bajo un diseño completamente alzar con seis repeticiones. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que la fertilización a base de NPK en el cultivo de hierba luisa permitió un mayor crecimiento de las plantas, a la vez que potenció el desarrollo foliar de las mismas, sin embargo, bajo la aplicación de 500 kg ha-1 de compost de caña de azúcar se obtuvieron los resultados más cercanos al tratamiento de mayor efecto, mientras que, para la producción de macollos y tallos por macollo, los tratamientos no se diferenciaron. Además, cuando se fertilizó el cultivo mediante la aplicación de T2: Compost de caña 500 kg ha-1, se obtuvo un nivel de rendimiento similar al alcanzado con la fertilización química a base de NPK que fue el tratamiento que posibilitó la generación de mayor rendimiento por hectárea.
