After reviewing the history of Ecuadorian cinema and analyzing the legislation governing national production as the theoretical basis of the investigation aimed at generating a critical look at the viewer on the quality of the content of the cinematographic films "La Tigra” and "A Tus Espaldas". Productions where it is possible to define that the contents reproduce the gender stereotypes of the time. But at the same time, they manage to project the evolution of Ecuadorian thought and to shape on the big screen to the future that will sustain the collective thinking about the role that men and women must play in society. The results presented at the end of the research provide the viewer with clear and stereotypical information that allows to make a more critical assessment of the films. |

The results presented at the end of the research provide the viewer with clear and stereotypical information that allows to make a more critical assessment of the films.El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito identificar qué estereotipos de género están presentes en las producciones cinematográficas ecuatorianas: “La Tigra” de Camilo Luzuriaga y “A Tus Espaldas” de Tito Jara, para esto se aplicará una metodología cualitativa que nos permite examinar interpretaciones del contenido actual, en la cual se tomará escenas seleccionadas y diálogos que se exponen en las dos películas, evidenciando y analizando el contenido que transmite y crea el cine ecuatoriano. Luego de repasar la historia del cine ecuatoriano y de analizar la legislación que rige a la producción nacional, como base teórica de la investigación que tiene por objeto generar una mirada crítica en el espectador sobre la calidad en el contenido de las cintas cinematográficas “La Tigra” y “A Tus Espaldas”. Producciones en donde se logra definir que los contenidos reproducen los estereotipos de género de la época, pero a su vez logran proyectar la evolución del pensamiento ecuatoriano y plasmar en la pantalla grande el futuro que sostendrá el pensamiento colectivo sobre el rol que debe desarrollar el hombre y la mujer en la sociedad.
