description The objective of this research was to describe the profile of the health tourist who visits the province of Tungurahua. The type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach was used, such as surveys, analysis of primary and secondary data, as well as fieldwork. Within this project there are different types of health tourism, this study focuses particularly on wellness tourism, which includes activities such as hot springs, yoga, spa, and ancestral medicine. The first objective was to systematize the data obtained through surveys, using a simple random sampling, after which the formula to obtain the sample was determined, obtaining A total of 384 tourist responses, to select the attractions was investigated by digital means, documents, university libraries to obtain a real database of the inventory of tourist attractions, within the investigation it was possible to highlight the seven tourist attractions. To obtain the characteristics of the profile of the health tourist, the results revealed that the health tourist is mainly Ecuadorian 94.1%, aged between 18 and 40 years, and with an equitable distribution between genders. Regarding the employment situation of tourists, the results were that 26% are private workers followed by students, 21% work in the public sector, and 3% are unemployed. The marital status is 56% are single while 28% are married and 15% free union. Within the socioeconomic variable, the results obtained are tourists who estimate spending a limited budget between 0 to 100 USD, which is 51%. And 42% of tourists prefer to do wellness tourism, more than 25% of tourists receive incomes of more than $600. After that, there are the motivational variables that the majority of tourists traveled by bus, a total of 57% while 32% traveled in their car. The main reason for the trip is relaxation 59%, and the stay within the province is from one to two days 45%. Subsequently, an informative bulletin was prepared that covers the results obtained from the demographic, socioeconomic, motivational, and preferential characteristics, for the design the Canva application was used, and the bulletin addresses specific topics related to health and wellness tourism, the conceptual limitations in this field, differentiation of health tourism compared to other forms of tourism, the available tourism offer, the prominent places, the tourist profile, the data collection, the analysis of the results and the final section of the newsletter.

Se utilizó el tipo de investigación descriptiva con enfoque cuantitativo, como encuestas, análisis de datos primarios y secundarios, así como trabajo de campo. Dentro de este proyecto se encuentran distintos tipos de turismo de salud, este estudio se enfoca particularmente en el turismo de bienestar, el cual engloba actividades como termas, yoga, spa y medicina ancestral. El primer objetivo consistió en sistematizar los datos obtenidos mediante encuestas, utilizando un muestreo aleatorio simple, fue necesario identificar los turistas que visitan la provincia de Tungurahua que son 440.000 datos tómanos del Ministerio de Turismo del año 2019, posterior a ello se determinó la fórmula para obtener la muestra, consiguiendo como respuesta un total de 384 turista, para seleccionar los atractivos se investigó por medios digitales, documentos, bibliotecas universitarias con el fin de obtener una base de datos reales del inventario de atractivos turísticos, dentro de la investigación se pudo destacar los siete atractivos turísticos ya que estos cuentan con una jerarquía del nivel dos y se clasifican por categorías, tipos y subtipos. Con el propósito de obtener las características del perfil del turista de salud, los resultados revelaron que el turista de salud que visita Tungurahua es principalmente ecuatoriano 94.1%, de edades jóvenes principalmente entre 18 y 40 años y con una distribución equitativa entre géneros. La situación laboral de los turistas los resultados fueron que el 26% trabaja en una empresa privada. Seguido de los estudiantes, el 21% trabajo en el sector público y el 3% son desempleados. El estado civil es del 56% de los encuestados son solteros mientras que el 28% son casados y el 15% unión libre. Dentro de la variable socioeconómica los resultados obtenidos son los turistas estiman gastar un presupuesto limitado entre 0 a 100 USD es el 51%. Por otro, los turistas mantienen un salario básico de 10%. Y el 42% de turistas prefieren realiza turismo de bienestar solo, el más del 25% de los turistas perciben ingresos superiores a $600. Posterior a ello se encuentran las variables motivacionales que la mayoría de turistas se movilizaba en bus siendo un total de 57% mientras que el 32% se moviliza en auto propio. El motivo principal del viaje es relajación 59%, la estadía dentro de la provincia, es de uno a dos días siendo el 45%.
