Elaboración y aplicación de una crema a base de cúrcuma (cúrcuma longa l.) al 10% y 20% como cicatrizante y antiinflamatorio en el control post operatorio de heridas quirúrgicas por ovario histerectomía en caninas domesticas (canis lupus familiaris) en la clínica veterinaria Zoocat.

The present research work was carried out in the Zoocat Veterinary Clinic located in the city of Latacunga, whose objective was the elaboration and application of turmeric-based cream in different concentrations as an adjuvant in the physiological process of healing and inflammation in the postoperative control of surgical wounds by ovarian hysterectomy in domestic canines (canis lupus familiaris), This was evaluated by observing the wound coloration, the presence of exudate, texture and healing time, which was assessed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's test at 5%. The cream was applied for 5 days, during which the data collection took place and later on the day on which the removal of the stitches was performed independently of each treatment. We worked with 30 canines divided into three groups of 10 patients each, having treatment #1 a 10% turmeric-based cream; treatment #2 a 20% turmeric-based cream and treatment #3 which consisted of the application of a Farbioderm commercial cream (clotrimazole, bifonazole, gentamicin, betamethasone dipropionate). In treatment #2 is where the best results were observed, decreasing the healing time and with the existence of almost no inflammation or characteristic coloration, there was no exudate and the texture of the wound was normal in all the canines. In treatment #1 there was presence of exudate, inflammatory process and delay of the healing process in one patient, the healing time was decreased but it was not the same as in treatment #2, in treatment #3 the presence of exudate was more present than in the two treatments mentioned above, only on days three and four and with low percentages as well as the percentages of inflammation, the texture of the wound was normal and the healing time decreased as in treatment #2.
