Uso de tres niveles de ajenjo (artemisia absinthium) 5%, 10%, 15% como promotor de crecimiento en la producción de pollos de engorde.

In the present research, the use of three levels of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) 5%, 10%, 15% in broilers was implemented, with the objective of identifying the chemical properties of wormwood applied in poultry production as a growth promoter, to encourage its use as a coadjuvant in poultry production, evaluate its zootechnical parameters and evaluate the cost benefit of the use of wormwood infusion in broiler production. In the project, an experimental study was carried out on 80 broilers of the Cobb 500 line, from 8 days of age to 49 days, which were divided into three groups with treatments: T1 = 5%, T2 = 10%, and T3 = 15% infusion of wormwood in one liter of drinking water and a control group T0, each treatment had 4 repetitions with 5 experimental units, obtaining the following results: in the bromatological analysis of wormwood a protein percentage of 10%, moisture 50.40% and 7.76% ash; therefore in the zootechnical parameters the following results were obtained: T3 obtained final weights of 2410.3g in comparison with the control which obtained weights of 2126.21 surpassing with 287.09g of favorable difference for T3 which was the use of 15% wormwood infusion obtaining the highest weight with a total consumption of 4125.52g of dry matter and better feed conversion consuming 1, 76g of dry matter per kg of weight and also obtained the lowest percentage of mortality in this treatment in comparison with the control T0, which obtained the lowest carcass weights with a best feed conversion of 1.97g and a percentage of 3.75% total mortality, concluding that the best zootechnical parameters were obtained by the T3 in the final stage, in the same way, due to its greater amount of weight, a better gain in cost benefit was obtained with a value of $1.62 in the T3 and $1.61 in the T2.
