| Summary: | "San Antonio" is an Poultry Farm that is dedicated to eggs production for human consumption, it has its own food preparation system for its birds. This process control is currently semiautomatic. Within the food preparation are immersed this: storage, grinding, weighing, oil palm addition and mixing. These threads already had electromechanical control with the exception of the oil addition, which was done manually. The operator, through a container, moved the liquid from the storage silo to the mixer. 3180.8 lbs (1606 lt) of oil palm per year are wasted according the analize, 17.16 min of time cycle per ton prepared by the operator and also an imbalance in the birds feeding. This is why it was proposed to replace the manual system with an automatic oil addition system. Applying field research determined the variables and technological equipment for this application, included a pump for oil palm drive, a pipe network for driving, a display screen and a PLC for controlling this thread. With this implementation process was optimized, minimizing the amount of oil waste in its entirety, the cycle time production was reduced to (14.7 min) that it saved 2.54 minutes for each ton. According to the obtained results, a it projected saves $858.60 per year for oil palm waste and a 17.85% increase in efficiency thread. |
