Samenvatting:The research addresses the problem of teacher / community relations, as part of the objectives to achieve a quality education, in the educational institution it is evident that the parents and the community itself have a low level of relationship in the development of the educational processes, for which the objective has been established to determine the importance of the relationship between teachers and the community. The methodology applied in the research process has a qualitative approach in order to describe the components, characteristics and factors that intervene in the relationship between the teacher and the community, a type of documentary bibliographic design that allows generating a theoretical support about of the common contribution that the teacher can have in the community, as well as the community in the teaching-learning process, that allow to reach an exploratory level of the research problem through a non-experimental study that seeks to describe the current situation of the relationship teacher-community. The beneficiaries of the research project are the children, teachers, parents and community of the CECIB "Sergio Núñez" because they provide information about the interrelation between the teacher and the Zumbahua community. The relevance of the research lies in the existing need for the teacher to articulate the contents addressed by the Ministry of Education in each of the educational levels with the social contexts of the community to which they belong, and in this way the educational quality and community development. The bibliographic review has made it possible to know that the teacher plays a determining role within the community, as it is in charge of technically and humanly training the future members of society, and equipping them with the tools for their adaptation to the social environment, This must know the motivators of the community, their needs and desires to know the socio-cultural characteristics of their students and to match these aspects within the educational process. The results that have been determined from the present investigation have supported the existence of a poor relationship between the teacher and the community, the lack of integration and communication mechanisms, as well as a lack of interest of teachers and parents. recommends the design and execution of activities that allow improving the teacher / community relationship as well as the educational quality, such as open houses, social and cultural projects, school projects, among others..
