Estudio del perfil del turista local post covid-19, caso cantón Salcedo, provincia de Cotopaxi.

Due to the situation the world is currently going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic, changes have occurred that have affected different countries at a psychological, social, cultural and economic level. As for the economy, one of the sectors that has been hit the hardest is tourism, due to the stoppage it has suffered. However, at present business and / or pleasure trips have been resumed, for which tourism is faced with a new challenge, in which it must offer a safe alternative that adapts to the preferences and expectations of this new traveler who became distrustful about his safety and that of his loved ones. From here arises the need to carry out an investigation that collects these data from the local tourist of the Salcedo canton, for this reason the objectives were set; determine the preferences of the local tourist post Covid-19, applying data validation instruments that establish the profile of the local resident, for which, a survey was designed analyzing research related to the subject in order to gather information with criteria that are related to the current moment. Afterwards, the confirmatory intentional non-probabilistic sampling was used to know the sample, since two conditions had to be met so that the respondents could fill out the survey, be between 20 and 59 years old and reside in the Salcedo canton. was 27,520 people, then the finite population formula was applied to find out how many surveys should be carried out, resulting in 379, subsequently, the information was collected in person, visiting the Salcedo canton from January 4 to 7, 2021, being able to collect data from 299 surveys, due to covid-19 people had a reluctant attitude, which is why they continued to collect information from the 80 surveys virtually through Google Forms. Finally, the information from the data obtained was interpreted through the systematization and analysis of the variables, the descriptive methodology was used, accounting as a result of the profile of the local post-pandemic tourist, it was evidenced that the local tourists of the canton oscillated between an age of 20 at 30 years, which is 40%, their marital status in most cases was married, which is 32%, their level of education was high school, which is 34%, Regarding its economy, it was active with independent jobs, which is 29%, with tastes for both natural and cultural attractions, which is 56%. It is recommended to expand the geographic space in order to obtain more data about the post-covid-19 tourist profile from other parts of Ecuador.
