La danza infantil en la psicomotricidad gruesa en Educación Inicial en la Unidad Educativa “Victoria Vásconez Cuvi”, cantón Latacunga, provincia de Cotopaxi.

At the level of the educational system, the lack of development of gross psychomotor skills in students was evident. In view of this problem, the following general objective was set "to diagnose the development of gross psychomotor skills through children's dance in the Victoria Vásconez Cuvi Educational Unit", the methodology used in the research was qualitative, non-experimental, and descriptive, in accordance with the scope of the project, the inductive method was used, the population consisted of 35 children and a teacher of initial level 2, in which instruments such as the guide of structured questions was applied to the teacher and the observation sheet applied to the children. The results of the research were: From the point of view of the teacher, it was determined that she does not use children's dance as a teaching-learning strategy, excluding it from the children's daily activities, which is quite detrimental to their motor development; on the other hand, from the observation it became evident that they experience a deficit in gross motor development, their balance is not correctly stimulated, their laterality is not defined, they present problems in paying attention and actively participating in the planned activity. For the above-mentioned reasons, we conclude that it is vitally important to include children's dance in the school activities of infants, as this can have great benefits for the child, such as strengthening their gross motor skills and ensuring that teachers are in constant training, as something new emerges every day in the world of education.
