| Sažetak: | The research was carried out at the Farm "SANTA CLARA" located in Latacunga Canton, Tanicuchi Parish, with the objective of evaluating an IATF protocol (Fixed Time Artificial Insemination) using progestogens and estradiol benzoate as a post-withdrawal implant. It was used 27 dairy cow with similar characteristics in body condition, feeding, and care, Holstein breed, with ages between 15 and 18 months and ovarian corpus luteum condition for all. The protocol began on day 0 with the insertion of the CIDR intravaginal device of 1.38 gr., plus the application of 0.4 ml of Estradiol Benzoate (BE); on day eight, the device was removed, and 2ml of cloprostenol (Estrumate) was applied, then 0.2 ml was administered with Estradiol Benzoate (day 9), to proceed to artificial insemination between 48-50 hours after removal of the implant (day 10), kept records of the animals depending on the time that each of the research processes was performed. In the end, the 27 dairy cows showed estrus that demonstrates 100% of effectiveness before insemination. After insemination, from 27 dairy cows only 8 repeated the manifestation of estrus, these were inseminated for the second time with detection of natural estrus of which four gestated and the remaining four were diagnosed empty. As a total result, it was concluded that 23 dairy cows (85%) gestated and only four of them (15%) did not gestate. The protocol responded positively being this high synchronization, efficient and most importantly this protocol is very economical and easy to apply for small producers to improve their livestock herds based on profitability and total production. |
