Influencia del sistema de crianza de cuyes en los costos de producción, en tres parroquias rurales del cantón Latacunga.

The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the influence of the guinea pig breeding system on production costs in the Guaytacama, Mulaló, and Pastocalle parishes of the Latacunga Canton. The first step was to create a social intervention to find the established parishes' organizations and select at random six family-raising systems and six technical ones. In order to determine the production costs by taking the average of all the study's components, a survey and a database of inventory costs were created. In both, we can differentiate the variable costs such as food which is $485.50 in the family while the other is $640.40 and health has a cost of $9.63, which varies not so significantly in the technical with $20.35, within the fixed costs that in this case would be the infrastructure with $973.78 in the family with a depreciation of 10% that results in $97.40 and in the technified $252.83 and the labor that it was considered only for hours worked daily; It was possible to obtain a comparative analysis where the production of each guinea pig is $7.39 on the family side, however, the producers sell each one for $6; which shows that there is an economic loss of $1.39 per guinea pig. On the other hand, technical breeding has a production of $6.15 with a live sale of the animal of $6.25, which shows that there is a profit of $0.15 for each animal. These results are a benefit for the technical part since the food component is less expensive compared to the family. In addition, when comparing production costs, optimal production was established by measuring which system is feasible for rearing and which is not. To conclude, the family system doesn’t have adequate management in terms of production costs, that is, the fixed, variable, and total costs that it generates monthly to carry out its production adequately and thus be able to obtain a total cost of its expenses, to which is advisable to technify the breeding systems.
