The technique that was put into practice was Flotation, the total number of animals sampled was 60 obtaining the following results; The presence of any external parasite was not obtained from the sampled animals, the results of the gastrointestinal parasites were as follows; Haemonchus contortus with 35% of the total samples collected, followed by Coccidia with 25%, Trichostrongylus with 16.67%, Eimeria with 6.67%, Trichuris ovis with 5%, Oesophagostomum with 3.33%, Marshallagia marshalli with 3.33%, Bunostomum with 1.67%, Ostertargia with 1.67%, Cooperia with 1.67%. The prevalence based on age showed that animals less than one year old had a prevalence of 6.67%; animals aged 1 to 3 years with a prevalence of 61.67% and animals older than 4 years of 13.33%. The prevalence based on the parasites presented was; of monoparasitism 66.67%, followed by absence of parasites 18.33%. Parasitism with 10% and Tryparasitism with 5%. It was observed that the prevalence in relation to parasite / age is more noticeable in animals aged 1 to 3 years than in smaller animals. |
