Sistema de gestión académica para la carrera de Ingeniería Industrial.

This research was carried out in the academic area of the Industrial Engineering Career, which proposal development was related to a Quality Management System (QMS). Firstly, the researchers identified the processes that take place in the career to assimilate the executed activities throughout the academic period. Then, a process mapping was elaborated to establish standards in the academic management process to satisfy teachers and students’ needs and expectations. Later, the researchers have done a diagnosis, evaluation, and analysis of compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015, where it was evident the non-existence of QMS. The lack of documentation evidence does not contribute to show quality academic performance. That is why researchers did a quality manual to provide adequate guidance and to get access to information and documents quickly. The research ended with the improvement proposal through a matrix, which contains indicators from the quality assessment and assurance department of the Technical University of Cotopaxi (UTC). It included suppliers, inputs, procedures, outputs, users, resources, and enrollments to demonstrate efficiency in the management of the educational process, and the accreditation of the career by fulfilling the established requirements, monitoring respectively and control, and making better decisions to improve when there are inconsistencies.
