Description
Summary:The main objective of this research project was to determine the degree of competitiveness of SMEs that sell automotive parts in the city of Latacunga. For which, based on the methodology proposed by the Competitiveness Map developed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), an instrument adapted to seven general questions and the second one associated with competitiveness was applied, consisting of fifty approaches which evaluate the following areas: strategic planning, operations, quality assurance, marketing, accounting and finance, human resources and environmental management, with this you can take measures to improve the competitive performance of companies related to the sector. According to the results on the IDB competitiveness map model and the scale used for this purpose, a high level of competitiveness (0.72) was obtained for small and medium-sized companies that sell automotive parts. Once the aforementioned methodology was applied, it was verified that the aforementioned companies have no or no administrative structure, low level of an action plan, lack of an operational plan, while keeping in mind the high level of quality and accounting and finance. Finally, a factor analysis was made that showed that there is a high correlation between the analyzed variables, so there are many factors among which the elements studied can be grouped, which are thirteen factors considered in the instrument, which exceeds the quantity of components considered in the IDB model.
