Тойм:The present investigation was carried out in the Chanizas neighborhood, Machachi Parish of the Mejía Canton, Pichincha Province, at an altitude of 2,886 meters above sea level and coordinates latitude 0° South and longitude 75° West. The objective was to determine the effect of diatom algae on aphids (Brevicoryne brassicae) of four doses of diatom algae on two varieties of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. Avenger & Steell). A complete randomized complete block design was implemented with a 4 x 2 factorial arrangement, giving a total of 10 treatments and 3 repetitions. Same Experiment that was carried out in the field, the pre-sowing tasks were plowing and furrowing the field to later place the seedlings purchased in the Salcedo sector. The indicators to evaluate were: height of the plants (PA), percentage of incidence (PI), and number of leaves (NH). The following results were obtained: The treatment with the highest incidence of pests is T10 (Stell) with an average of 34.67%. The broccoli with the lowest percentage of pest incidence is T4 (Stell 25g/lt) with an average percentage of 13.33%, ranking in the last range (B); It should be noted that the treatments T7 (Avenger 45g/lt), T8 (Stell 45g/lt), T2 (Stell 15g/lt) and T3 (TAvenger 25g/lt) have an incidence rate equal to 20%. In cost, the T7 treatment was the one that gave the best results. therefore, it is recommended to use 25g/lt for control as an alternative to chemical control.
