Riassunto:"Talleres Terán" Company has approximately 40 years of experience in the automotive sector in the city, it is located in the northern part in Latacunga city, in one of the most important arteries at Eloy Alfaro Avenue, and it offers the Services of rectification and painting, until the final finish. The present project is carried out with the fundamental objective to optimize the process by designing a paint chamber to reduce the drying time, increase the quality of time and improving the company income. The convection paint booth has a fan of 4.2 m3 / s, which has the function of boosting the air through the heating system which is made up of 5kW resistors each. This paint booth maintains a reference temperature of 65 ° C. Thanks to these thermal conditions, a decrease in the drying time from 4 hours to 25 minutes is obtained, managing to optimize the process time by 89%. All these calculations are based on the oven in real size. In addition, a prototype with a 1: 7 scale was published to reproduce with more fidelity the real behavior of the furnace and highlight the circumstances and modes of operation. The relationship with the construction costs also exists a saving of approximately 60% taking into account the costs of the references of the furnaces of the painting in the market. In conclusion, working in a thermally controlled environment allows for a better finish of the painted parts because in this procedure the dust particles, microfibers, paint dripping, and the gloss in the final finish are removed.
