Čoahkkáigeassu:This project entitled ¨Evaluation of the Nutritional Quality of Three Silage Methods (heap silo, tank silo, and bag silo) of oats and corn, in Alaquez parish, Latacunga canton¨ aimed to provide a solution to small livestock producers in the area. The methodology used was the silo in a bag, in a tank, and in a heap, in which the oats and corn were cut, chopped in the forage grinder, placed with the hands in the bags, in the tanks, and the plastic where the silo will be made in a heap, Once the silo was compacted in a bag and tank with the help of a manual press, a diluted mixture of molasses, urea, and salt was added; similarly, the heap silo was compacted with the use of a car, and the diluted mixture was placed; finally, the bag, the tank, and the heap silos were sealed. Therefore, the elaboration of these three silage methods is proposed to mitigate the substantial economic losses due to the lack of pasture. In the same way, it was determined that the physical quality of the three silage methods complies with the organoleptic properties, with a perfect color, a pleasant smell, a good consistency, and excellent palatability. In terms of nutritional quality, it was concluded that the silo in a bag of oats + molasses + urea and salt is the one that is closest to the nutritional values provided by FEDNA; in addition, the silo of heaps of corn + molasses + urea and salt are the ones that come most relative to the nutritional parameters recommended by FEDNA. Lastly, the silo in a bag is the one that represents the least expensive for its realization, both in oats and corn.
