Тойм:This paper presents a systematic process of energy use through an analysis of energy indicators in a health building, where the importance of regular energy consumption profile requirements to establish specific performance indicators in a hospital is affirmed. A basic hospital located in the province of Cotopaxi (Ecuador), equipped with 15 beds, is analyzed, an energy balance is performed where electricity is determined as the largest energy carrier with 46,84 %, the electricity tariff is evaluated during the period of the year (2022), managing to identify an annual consumption of 124. In addition, the percentage distributed of electric energy in this hospital is identified, with the highest consumption of electric motors with 38 % and lighting with 22 %, finding energy indicators that allowed making decisions to make energy savings through the analysis of energy and lighting quality, based on the analysis carried out, a capacitor bank was implemented to help improve the power factor from 0,87 to 0,95 through simulation with the ETAP software and the replacement of fluorescent lamps with LED technology, optimizing the level of luminosity within the permitted levels through the use of the DIALux software, achieving energy savings of 13.242,5 kWh/year and economic savings of USD 860,45/year, avoiding emissions of 2.538,59 kg CO2/year.
