सारांश:In a few regions of the world and in Ecuador, the subject of medicinal Cannabis compound known as CBD (cannabidiol) is little studied. It is one of the most important components of the cannabis plant that acts as anxiolytic, relaxing and anti-inflammatory, it is beneficial for different types of diseases and their symptoms, this product is not produced in the country with an industrial or medicinal approach. The plant has multiple uses such as in the textile industry, fibers, seeds, oils and medicinal products, the latter being the one that provides benefits for the treatment of diseases, with a greater margin of therapeutic application to reduce the symptoms associated with certain conditions such as Epilepsy, Sclerosis, Parkinson and Chronic Pain. The objective of the research project is to determine the technical and economic feasibility to find a solution to the problem of its production and medicinal use, the type of exploratory and explanatory research was used where an analysis and registration was carried out with respect to cannabidiol, the characterization of the plant in terms of its chemical and physical composition for the study of how to extract the CBD, the necessary machinery and its extraction process were investigated, in order to be able to meet objectives in the theoretical work. The results of the technical and economic study allow us to substantiate that the process studied for the extraction of CBD and its industrial production are not feasible, the projections and the financial analysis carried out do not generate the necessary income for long-term economic sustainability. It is necessary to take into account that in Latin America the demand for this product is low, so it is feasible to have financial support from investors and pharmaceutical companies interested in the field of CBD research.
