Summary:In the present work the behavior of the power transformer magnetization in the presence of induced geomagnetic currents (GIC) was detailed, in order to analyze the effects caused by the insertion of current to the neutral of the transformer, it was elaborated through the ATP Draw software selecting the simplified transformer model that starts off from the real transformer, as results, the electrical parameters of the input and output transformer`s voltages those were obtained input and output currents transformer and finally current and reactive power in the magnetizing branch of the transformer. With this analysis, the data obtained including graphs will resemble the data of a real transformer, allowing considerable savings in relation to using the equipment and instrumentation in a physical way of a real transformer.
